16 bit image support

After all this time and this many releases of software why haven't all the editing features been upgraded to support 16 bit editing, like the filter gallery or the save as jpeg preview?  Considering the large amount of money Photoshop customers pay it seems inexcusable that this limitation is still present when the cameras most people use are closer to 16 bit than 8 bit.

answer was the "management" does not see the DEMAND for 16 bit (or 32 bit) filters.

well you know why many companys fail.... because the managment doesn´t know shi*t what users want.

i think it´s low on the priority list because some/most of the filters would need a complete rewrite.
