Hi Anyone out there having the same issue?...we upgraded to Flash player 11.2.202.233 and now virtually all of the flash videos that we have posted on client websites have aspect ratio issues. The vertical height is perfect, but the horizontal width is compressed about 40% ..."squished". The video plays fine all the way through, but the width is a mess. What to do? I am afraid that if clients "upgrade" to the new player they will be calling us to "fix it"!!! Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi, I am running windows XP Pro, 32 bit. The issue is seen on IE8 version 8.0.6.001.18702, Firefox version 12.0 and Google Chrome version 18.0.1025.168 m Flash Player version 11.2.202.233. Problem: We posted several Flash Videos on our client websites and all played back with no issues until we upgraded our Flash Player. Now, all of the Flash Videos (in the player generated by Dreamweaver CS3) show a "squished" horizontal width and a normal vertical height. Any ideas? ...have you heard of this issue with this "latest" Flash player? Thanks, Steve
Could you provide links so I can test this out? If you'd like to keep these private, please feel free to email me directly at ccampbel@adobe.com. We'll be doing a beta 3 release soon, but you might want to give our Flash Player 11.3 beta 2 release a shot to see if the issue is resolved.
Thanks,
Chris
Hi Steve,
A developer investigated the issue further and she said:
Arizonawine.org is using incorrect ActionScript code to set the movie size. Loading a video is asynchronous so assumptions should not be made about when the size is available.
Instead the AS code should use a timer (say once a second) and set the size when the Video.videoWidth and Video.videoHeight is available.
Thanks,
Ryan
Hello...we have not heard back from anyone at Dreamweaver. We tried the CS6 version, but we still have the same problem. Code generated by CS6 does not work with the latest Flash player (11.3). The vertical height is ok...the horizontal width is "squished" in by about 40%. The size of the FLVs is EXACTLY the same as the dimensions entered. We cannot find any way to directly communicate with Adobe/Dreamweaver. Can you put us in direct contact with someone who can address this issue? We have MANY videos posted using DW code and the support on this is getting rediculous. The forums are worthless.... Thank you, Steve
