Printing Issuse From Lightroom 4 To Canon Pixma Pro 9000 MK II

May 1, 2012 4:44 AM

I have been trying to print from Lightroom 4 to a Canon Pixma Pro 9000 MK II.   Whenever I try to print via the front try (for canvas) I get an error message (code 1281) and I cannot print.   I have tried a few different papers as well as canvas and all of them give the same error code.

I have also tried printing from Elements 9 with the same problem.

I can print via the front try using Canon's own software, Easy Print Pro, but I cannot soft proof the image first and I cannot the the correct size of image either.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get round this problem?

I have spoken to Canon and they have passed the buck saying that as I can print using thier software it is an Adobe issue.

Printer: Canon Pixma Pro 9000 MKII

Software: Adobe Lightroom 4

Operating System: Lion OSX

Is your print driver set to Paper Source: Auto Feed or Front Tray?

Within the print module, select page setup in LR, and then paper size in the driver window, you should see options for auto feed, manual feed or front tray for the size paper you want.

I don't know if this will help or not.  I don't have the printer that you do.  However, in the print module, lower left hand corner of the screen, there is a page setup button that will open the Epson printer driver screen.  And I think that is where you need to set your options.

    Lightroom>Print Module

Print Settings button Bottom Left-hand Panel

Set the Center Pull-down to Quality and Media

    Paper Source: Front Tray
