ok I am incredibly frustrated. I have flash cs5.5, I am trying to make a dvd out of a flash file that will loop and can play on a monitor at a trade show. The file is 1920x1080, 15 fps. HOWEVER, I have also tried adjusting the size, frame rate etc, still same result. I output the swf file. I open the swf file in winavi, convert to avi OR convert to dvd, in BOTH cases the file is blurry. Why is this?! I have tried other converters too such as swf2avi, etc. I have tried about 4 different ones. And every time, blurry. My boss is being a p.i.a. and saying he doesn't want to have to bring his laptop to the trade show to run the flash file off of it to the monitor- he wants to be able to insert a dvd into the dvd player attached to the monitor and just have it loop and play, all day. I have made the size of the file smaller, I have changed the frame rate to 30fps, 15fps, same result. Help?
It is likely to to be your encoding software - ie the sofware that converts from Flash to AVI or DVD. I've used software like this to convert to DVD (I think it was Win2DVD) and is seems these are consumer products more geared to speed and convenience, because I used a good quality AVI as the source but the quality of the final DVD was absolutely terrible. DVD encoding is slow and computationally intensive and good encoders take longer to get better results and some have the option to make multiple passes of encoding, gradually improving the quality of the final DVD video bit by bit. This can take much longer than the runtime of the original video, so a one hour video might take two hours to convert to DVD. The bad news is that good DVD encoders can be expensive.
You can play your Flash file after you create it and visually see the quality - if the final AVI/DVD is substantially lower in quality the problem is in the the conversion process not the Flash file so you could be barking up the wrong tree here.
Hope this helps
it helps a ton- thank you. I wasn't sure if my problem stemmed from some setting I am missing, like the "make this NOT blurry" secret checkbox or something, haha. Are you aware of any more professional conversion programs that you could recommend? WinAVi is not cutting it. Thanks in advance!
You could output to video direct from Flash - the export as .mov (Quicktime) works quite well and will give good results, but you will then still have the problem of getting .mov to DVD. If you work from a Mac this can be dome with iMovie or iDVD. Does the video have sound?
oh you know that's my other issue- when I try to export to an avi file, everything is a mess. Giant green strip at the bottom, frames are like, half cut off, things are appearing all over the place- it's quite weird. No my movie does not have any sound.
Have you tried the SWF to video converter from moyea? AFAIK, it is possibly the most powerful third-party swf converter.
I bought the converter months ago, and it still works good on my pc.
