Cant scrub avchd without stuttering. Does anyone know why?
i7-980, 24 gigs ram, raid 0 for video & all other PP files, PP cs5.5.2, win 7 64bit, fast cuda card....
I have 3 of the above systems & all 3 can not scrub avchd 1920/1080 without stuttering. I even overclocked 1 system & still cant scrub faster than 1x speed.
Not an answer, but have you read the discussion in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/995540 to see if any of the ideas help?
I have a very similar system and have no problem scrubbing. How many processes do you have running in Task Manager on the Processes tab when you chech "Show processes from all users". I have tuned my OS to rhe ultimate and have only 29 processes running before I start any applications. Have you turned off compression on all your disks?
You can start here http://forums.adobe.com/thread/436139?tstart=0 which also applies to Win7
Steve, here is my personal list but it may be too extreme for your usage. Do these systems have anti-virus,spam, etc installed?

Any notes to setting up the paging file? I have 24 gigs of ram & 4 drives. I keep reading different things regarding this.
The key to the page file is that it should be on a separate disk from your source media disk and/or project disk. And it should be on the fastest disk of those that aren't going to be used for the source media or project files.
You might want to search for Microsoft articles to see what they say about how to put your paging file on a drive other than the default boot disk, as well as the size
