I have been using a Nikon D4 to shoot video for about a month. I edit on a 15 in MacBook Pro Dual Quad 2.2MGh with 8GB of RAM. I was shooting on a Nikon D3s and the video files were 720x1280 at 24p avi's. The D4 is set at 720x1280 30p .mov and are H.264. When I'm editing the D4 files I get a lot of stuttering and won't play in real time. Has anyone run into this? Do I need to encode my D4 files to Apple Pro Res for editing? If so, suggestions on an encoder?
Yes, this is fixed in Premiere Pro CS6.
Regarding renaming: Bridge is great for batch-renaming.
