Problem with OCR

Apr 16, 2012 12:51 AM

When trying to OCR a document I got the error message : "Acrobat cannot OCR this page: This page contains text to be generated" (translation from my French version)

Any clue?

It isn't a error, it is a information.

"So, have you any idea of the way to recognize the text included in this file?"

A PDF page containing renderable text cannot be OCR'd - (that is to say "recognized" by OCR).

    Be well...

So, have you any idea of the way to recognize the text included in this file ?

Save the document as TIFF. Combine the TIFF files to a new document. Perform OCR on this new document.

I'm interested if the last suggestion was helpful. I'm trying to convert pdf files (that were created by scanning paper documents) to searchable pdf.

Under my Tools>Recognize Text>In this file, the "In this file" option is greyed out.

There are no security restrictions on the document.

    Can anyone help?
