They said framerate, but I've also tried compressing with both VBR and CBR, and still no luck. It's quite mind-boggling, and I'm not the only person on the Vimeo forums that has been complaining about this issue (losing sync AFTER Vimeo transcodes it). I even tried exporting an uncompressed version out of Premiere, and then compressing it with Handbrake (www.handbrake.fr), which actually does have an option to choose Constant Framerate or Variable Framerate, but the Vimeo staff said the metadata says my video still has a variable framerate.

I'm suspicious too. Like I said, I don't have any out-of-sync issues with the original .mp4 file or when I upload it to YouTube. You should be able download the original .mp4 file through vimeo: https://vimeo.com/41319312 password: test

If you're using the new Vimeo page, under where it says "Fingerprint Marketing - Rough" and my name, there are tabs that say "Follow", "Add to", "Stats", and "Download"--choose the download one and the original .mp4.

If you're using the old Vimeo layout, if I remember correctly, on the lower right side of the page there should be a link that says "Download this video" (I think that's what it says--I can't see the old vimeo layout), and you'll probably have to right click and save as (if you're on a PC).

I've tried all sorts of presets and configurations of exporting, including the Vimeo preset. It's funny because I've seen threads on the Vimeo help forums with people having the same issue as me, and they'll say something like "You used compressed it with a variable bit rate. Please follow this tutorial and compress it with a constant bit rate", and the ironic part is that in the Premiere compression tutorial they will link to, it says to compress using a variable bit rate (and the Vimeo preset in Premiere uses a variable bit rate). The same goes for when they say you have a variable framerate... none of their tutorials ever mention to use a constant framerate, and the option isn't even in Premiere or a 3rd party program like AVS Video Converter.

Yeah, I downloaded MediaInfo to explore some of the various versions that I've rendered in my effort to get something that works correctly on Vimeo, and depending on the encoder I saw some of what Ann posted, but I also looked at one on MediaInfo that I had rendered through Adobe Media Encoder and it had a Constant frame rate mode of 23.976, yet I remember watching that one on Vimeo at the time and it was still out of sync--Mediainfo says that version has a variable audio bit rate though, but to my knowledge there isn't an option in AME to choose a constant audio bit rate.

I agree that it's an issue on Vimeo's side, but the chances of them getting their **** together in a timely fashion seem low. The frustrating thing is that I can watch documentary style videos on Vimeo that I know were edited and compressed through Premiere/AME, yet they don't have any audio sync issues. The difference that I noticed between one of those videos and mine is the use of still images in my video. As you can see from an image I uploaded earlier, the default frame rate for still images when I imported them was 29.97 until I changed it yesterday, but it didn't update the images I had already imported. So I'm wondering if there is a way to change the frame rate of those still images without having to re-import the images and make all my edits/key framing all over again.

Exactly Ann. The problem only occurs after I upload it to Vimeo and they transcode it to their own version.

Yes I know that particular one was compressed using Handbrake, but that's probably the 20th different version that I've uploaded. I tried uploading several different versions through Premiere/AME and it was the same outcome once it was uploaded to Vimeo... audio out of sync.
