mail app crashes when InDesign opens a new document

I am using InDesign CS5.5 and the standard mac Mail on an imac running OSX 10.7.3. When I open an existing InDesign file the mail app crashes. It doesnt do this with any other application.

Has anyone had the same experience ad could let me know how to fix this please.

    I use the exact same configuration on two computers with no problems whatsoever.

     

    I can't think of why InDesign would have anything to do with Mail crashing unless you're severely constrained in RAM on your computer.

    thanks for the reply. I've got 12gb of RAM so it shouldnt really be that. The mac is my work computer and my collegue has the identical set up (both Macs were bought and configured about 3 weeks ago) and his works fine.

    Since Mail is installed with the operating system, you might do the full update (not incremental) to Mac OS X 10.7.3. You can get that at the Apple website. Sometimes, incremental updates cause problems and downloading the full update fixes them.

    I am having this same problem, and have been frustrated with having to deal with this on a daily basis. Might it have something to do with InDesign activating fonts via Suitcase?
