Recognizing footnotes

Does Adobe ExportPDF recognize footnotes as something structurally specific, i.e. additional text associated - at a specific place - with the main document? If this is the case, in the Word file produced, moving to another page a paragraph containing a footnote reference would cause the note itself to be moved automatically to this page. If the original file (before the conversion to PDF format) was in Word format, can ExportPDF restore this kind of footnote structure and functionality?

    Hi, Marc.

This is a good question. I had to test this to check.

    1. I created a Word file with footnotes here.
    2. I then converted this Word file to PDF here.
    3. I then uploaded this PDF file to ExportPDF and converted it back to Word here.

The resulting Word file in Step 3 contains all the same content as the original Word file in Step 1. However, it appears that it's lost the fact that some elements were tagged as footnotes.

I've added this feature to our Idea page here. If you'd like to see us add this additional feature to ExportPDF, please go to the Ideas page and vote or comment on this feature.

    Thanks for the great idea!

    Dave
