What's the proper workflow for multiple crops of the same image?

One specific output need I have for images processed in Lightroom 4 is to send some of them to my mom's internet-linked electronic frame.  I like to send them at the resolution native to the frame which is different from the aspect ratio of the DNG file images that come out of my D7000.  So I'd like to crop the images bound for the frame, but might want to crop the same image differently if I want to use it for computer wallpaper, or make a print.  What's the best way to create and keep track of these different versions?  I'm very new to lightroom so I'd appreciate any suggestions on tutorials or articles that might exist on how to choose the best workflow for things like this, or even just suggestions on the best way to do it.

Thanks for your help!

Create "virtual copies" - each one can have a different crop
