Hey guys I'm new to the forums and new to Dreamweaver. Some background on me is that I have a bit of experience with Photoshop Cs5 and can read enough HTML code to be able to chop up and peice together various parts of a website but not enough to code an entire page... and thats about it. I am currently paying for a user interface to host and code my website www.shiftins.com. I would eventually love to learn how to design a website similar to what I have in Dreamweaver and eventually stop paying a monthly subscription fee. I would like to know how possible it is for a complete noob to Dreamweaver to code/design something similar to what I have currently? Also if anyone has any suggestions on where to begin learing I'm all ears. Thanks in advance.
Probably best to start here to get an understanding of the software and the code:

It's very doable. And you'll have a better site.
After you work through the tuts Rik gave you, have a look at Not Just A Grid rapid prototyping system. This will help you create the framework for your page layout.
Replace the Flash slideshow with jQuery. Flash doesn't work in iPhone/iPad/iTouch devices but jQuery does.

Have a look at Project Seven's Menu Systems. Their products are rock solid, designed to work in DW and they have excellent support.
