In previous versions of Adobe, I was able to set the tab order by simply clicking on the field. If I just changed a couple of fields or had to insert a new field, I could click on CTRL on the field right before the one I inserted to continue the tab order I wanted.
In Adobe X, I can't seem to find a way to do this. I understand the dragging of the fields in the navigation pane to put them in the order you want, but is this the only way?
I have a 2-page form with over 300 fields that I need ordered a specific way and to have to drag them to the position I want is so very time-consuming.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Another way is to open the Pages panel on the left-hand side, select the
pages with the fields, right-click one of them and select Page Properties.
Then under the Tab Order tab you can select one of the available options.
The old way was replaced with what we have now when Acrobat 9 was introduced. I agree that it was a MUCH better method and is why I keep Acrobat 7 around. Adobe could improve things with the current approach by allowing you to drag multiple fields at once as you can with LiveCycle Designer. Maybe they will will with a future version. Please submit a feature request so it may happen some day.
