Encore BD finalizing problem

My CS5 Encore program is not finalizing a BD disk at the end of the program. I am unable to duplicate the original BD in a new duplicator. I have had the computer checked, a BD disk analyzed by the equipment manufacture. The Problem is in the encore settings, which I am unable to supply a fix. If anyone out there can help me out, I would be forever thankful.

    i just create the disc to a disc folder and use img burn (yahoo/google it) to burn the disc. there are some quirks burning BD straight to disc it appears.

    Have you tried a preread on the disk in the duplicator?  That'll tell you if it can read things OK.

    Yes I have checked the duplicator out  through utilities. I also put in a ballet we filmed that was authored on adobe CS4 and the duplicator read the information correctly. I am looking into the recommendations from demon and John, but will call Adobe tech support next week and get their opinion. I may just have to purchase CS5.5 with the CS6 up grade. Being new to Adobe from apple final cut pro the learning curve is a little steep when things go wrong.

    Just FYI - the "authorcore" inside Encore is licensed from Sonic, and there have "always" been problems with the error messages out of Encore, due to the communication between the Sonic parts and the Encore overlay

     

    I only do DVD and the only problem I have ever had was failing to create a dual layer DVD, which is solved by using "Run as Administrator" with Encore, which is somehow different than simply running the computer on an Administrator account

     

    Even though I do not have any problems with Encore writing a DVD, I always use Imgburn since it gives me greater control over the writing parameters

     

    Try the Encore-->Folder-->Imgburn process to see how it works for you

    I was just thinking what you said about encore burning a DVD and I also do not have a problem duplicating DVD's

    Yeah, I've never had a problem with DVD, but at the end of 2010 I converted to blu-ray and encore does have quirks with blu-ray discs. Never had much a problem with the imgburn workflow though.

    Hopefully, now that Encore has been rewritten to be 64bit, any error message communication between the Sonic core and the Encore overlay will provide better messages to help with finding the problem

    Gentlemen

    Just a heads up, I contacted Adobe about the problem and after a long discussion they said it would take up to 4-5 days to get an answer. Based on the time I have put in on this matter, I think you guy's are right on for a work around to this problem.
