Locking Tab Order

May 5, 2012 3:42 PM

Hi, I am working on a form that has a lot of text boxes, check boxs, drop downs, etc.. I have the tab order set to "Order Tabs Manually". I have everything in the order that I want but any time I edit or move a box, it messes up my order and throws that box completely out of order. Is there a way to lock down the tab or so that no matter what i'm working on, nothing about the tab order will change?  Thanks

This behavior really stinks, and if you can believe it, it's considered a feature. Acrobat attempts to auto-adjust the tab order to what it thinks makes sense, but it's either a bad algorithm or is simply buggy as it can so thoroughly mess things up. I use Acrobat 7 to set the tab order for a lot of my forms since it is much faster and it doesn't have this unwanted behavior. I've submitted bug reports about this, so maybe we'll see an improvement someday.
