Does anyone know if my individual serial numbers and licenses apply to CS or are they separate and apply to the individual versions? I have CS5 and CS5.5 (and soon CS6) and we have 3 PCs (2 here and 1 in our office abroad) and a laptop.
I had CS5 on our main PC and laptop. Then I put CS5.5 on both. If I uninstall CS5 from my laptop now we have CS5.5, does that mean I can legitimately install it on our 2nd PC? If so can I do likewise with CS 5.5 for our 3rd PC (abroad) when CS6 arrives?
Be intersted to know as we need to do things legit..
If they are upgrades, they are supposed to run on the same machine where the previous qualifying version was/ is used, i.e. spreading out a new license with 2 activations and retaining an older version on a different machine to actually cover 3 machines is not exactly in the spirit of the EULA. However, there is no technical means preventing you from doing it and people do it all the time. So in so many words: It's between you and your conscience. If they are full versions that cover enough activations, meaning you have 2 licenses of CS5/ CS5.5 and plan on buying 2 CS6 upgrades then there is no problem whatsoever - it's perfectly clean and legit to install it on 3 machines then.
