Uninstalling CS3 after installing CS5.5?

May 7, 2012 12:47 AM

I have previously installed CS5.5 standard onto my laptop and retained CS3 until I was proficient.  What is the best procedure to now uninstall CS3 and free up some HDD space?  Win7 64 bit OS.  Do I need to deactivate CS3 or will this stop the newer software from running?

Different versions operate independently, so deactivating CS3 does have no effect on CS5.5. However, uninstalling does - it wil lmess up file associations and shared components. Therfore the only proper way to do this is to uninstall everything, then only reinstall CS5.5.

You only need to deactivate CS3. Whgen reinstalling on the same system, you can leave your existing activations for CS5.5 in place.
