I am currently running Acrobat X Standard version 10.1.3 and am unable to print Arch D size drawings. This has been a constant since day one with X. Any time I need to print a D size drawing which is our default drawing size I have to go to my old computer which is running 9 and print with no problem. I can print E size drawings in X no problem but D not going to happen. You get 2 meessages first "The document could not print" then "Nothing selected to print". I've tried calling tech support and live customer chat, but no one is able to help me. I am printing to an HP4000 large format printer.
What are the exact steps you are trying to do? I might assume you open your application and then go to File>Print, select the Adobe PDF printer, and then print. If so, after selecing the printer, go to the properties and select the correct paper size. As far as not printing, can you print anything? If not, what errors are you getting?
I open the PDF document go to file print select HP4000 printer set the properties to fit to page change paper size to Arch D auto rotate & then print. Following those exact same steps I can print Arch E1 drawings which are much bigger than the D size drawings to the same printer. Everyone else in my office running X has the same problem. I can print 8.5x11 to my default printer I can print 11x17 to another printer, but can't print 36x24 to large format printer. The only way I can print D size is to go to a computer running Acrobat 9. I tried calling Adobe Tech support, but got no help from the operator located God knows where.
I misunderstood the question. I would still check to be sure that the paper in the printer properties is proper and corresponds to what the PDF is designated as (even the portrait versus landscape aspect). In fact you might want to play with these settings a bit -- they are not always intuitive to me when portrait and landscape are being used. Also, why not try selecting the entire document just to see if that does the job -- sounds strange, but might work.
I've tried all these steps before to no success. If it were something with the orientation I wouldn't be able to print the E size drawings, because I do them the exact same way I try to do the D's. The paper isn't an issue either the printer is loaded with a 36x150 roll. It's got to be an issue withAdobe X but no one at there tech support knows what to do either.
Thanks for your help. The people at the tech support don't want to help. I was on hold for 10 minutes only to be told that because I couldn't find my serial number they couldn't help. I asked the guy were could I find it becasue I knew in previous versions you could go to the help and about and there your number was. He just completely blew me off.
It's not that they don't want, but they are not allowed to give you support
unless you have a valid S/N.
However, it is inexcusable they didn't help you locate it. It's no longer
available in the application itself.
Have a look here for more info on how to find it:
