Why does mysterious number 6590 appear on website?

May 3, 2012 10:39 AM

Somehow, the number 6590 started appearing on every page of this website. I called the hosting company and they said the error was with Dreamweaver, although I can't find the number anywhere in the Dreamweaver code. How can I make it go away?

Not sure, but something is not right with the page(s).

Did this start about the time of the daylight savings time? I am guessing it has to do with a time stamp on the server. Not sure how to fix it. Do you have a script running to compare the time stamps of anything?

I think that your hosting company is having you on. If the site did not initially show the number and you have not made any changes in the meantime, DW will not suddenly show up and mess with the code.

I think that the best way to test what is going on, is to re-upload a document/page and see what happens. If the number is still there, then you do have something in your Coldfusion code that plays around with the server.

I would call the hosting company, I think it is their problem, not yours.
