I'm unable to install the new ACR 7.1 RC because it tells me the Adobe Application Manager is corrupt or missing
(yet it worked at least several days ago informing me of a PSE10 ACR 6.7 Update)
I cannot reinstall the Application Manager - in just fizzles out during installation...
Adobe Application Manager is not listed in my Win7 "Uninstall Programs" List
Ideas how to uninstall or reinstall or FIX the Adober Application Manager Please??
Google searches have not been fruitful.
Thank-you!
Yes, I extracted to a folder and clicked the AdobePatchInstaller.exe and after clicking Run - it immediately popped up an error window (attached).
So, then I realized 'where did my Adobe Download task-bard icon go? It is not in my C: Program folders... the only reference I could find was in "Roaming/Adobe/AAM Updater Inventory"
Anyways, I downlaoded the Adobe Application Manager 2 and after extracing it and running - a window briefly came up as if it was going to install (it read "Initiallizing Setup") and quickly dissapeared.
I've reboted a few times and retried but nope....
ACR 6.7 was recently released as a stand-alone update for Lightroom 3, for example
and this:

ACR is a plugin for Photoshop and Photoshop Elements and Premier and Premier Elements. ACR does not enhance LR in any way. Trying to install the ACR 7.1 RC without having a flavor of PS-CS6 on your computer won’t work.
Someone saying that “ACR 6.7 was released for LR” means it is was released to allow PS or PSE to understand how to render LR adjustments when you use Edit In Photoshop/Elements in LR. It is basically an update to PS5.x and PSE10 to allow those to understand how to talk to LR, not something to fix anything about LR.
To change how LR works you have to update LR, itself.
ACR does not enhance LR in any way. ??
ACR is the Raw Editing Engine of Lightroom, as well as the other Adobe programs you mention.
Take ACR out of Lightroom and you take away the editing functions of the Basic Panel, and possibly other Panels.
ACR 6.7 helps Lightroom 3, PSE 10, and PS to understand Lr4 PV2012.
The link I provided from adobe Labs regards ACR 7.1 RC for Lightroom 4.
Yes I want the ACR 7.1 RC, not for the new lens support but for the Fixes.
Back to my original post:
can anyone explain how I can get my Adobe Application Manager to work Please - so I can install ACR 7.1 RC in my Lightroom?
Thank-you

ACR 7.1 can not be installed into Lightroom...that's what people have been trying to tell you. LR4 has it's own processing that while related to Camera Raw isn't actually the ACR plug-in. ACR, the plug-in, will only work in Photoshop. ACR 7.1 RC will ONLY install into Photoshop CS6. The RC betas do not support any version of Elements if that is what you are trying to install it in. If you have Elements then the only current plug-in is ACR 6.7.
