I bought the Creative suite 5 back in March of 2011. Shortly afterwords I recieved and email saying I qualified for a free upgrade to CS 5.5. I filled out the online form and got an automated email telling me my request had been submitted. The email also said there is no need to contact Adobe my upgrade would ship when it became available. I never recieved the upgrade. I waited until October before trying to reach Adobe (Oh what fun that is). I finally got through with someone online through IM. When I told her that I was still waiting for my upgrade she then told me I didn't quailify. She then said I had to buy CS5 (sorry I don't remember the exact dates, but my purchace date fell well within a quailfing time). After I told her I did purchase within the correct time frame, and filled out the forms and got the automated email she then told me I did not qualify because they stopped shipping the free upgrade in August. Is it legal to offer an upgrade package and not deliver? Now with CS 6 comming out I notice the free upgrade I was promised (and not delivered) would have saved me $300! I think it was all a scam! Did anyone get the free upgrade, and if so how long did you have to wait on hold. Maybe I should try the BBB they seem to get Adobe working.
Yes, I still have all the emails on the computer and printed out. I waited until Ocotber because I wasn't sure when the upgrade to 5.5 came out. At work we got a copy sometime in the summer, but I thought the free upgrades would be sent later (never came). I bought CS 5 online through Adobe's website. The email never listed a release date it just "no need contact Adobe...." when I finally got tired of waiting I decided to contact Adobe and got shot down! It is really frustrating trying to get ahold of someone from Adobe on the phone. I work 8 to 10 hrs a day and can't spend 4 hours waiting on the hold. I tried to give a call back number, but never got a call (I must of tried too late in the day).
