LR4 to CS6 not opening image.

May 7, 2012 9:39 PM

Right clicking on image in LR4, then selecting open with CS6.  CS6 program starts fine, but no image?  If I select CS5, it works fine.

Also, I tried a workaround, by exporting the file to my desktop (DNG).  Right clicking on the image, and selecting CS6, again will not open the image?  If I open CS6, then Menu>file>open, all files are greyed out until I select "all documents" in the enable menu?

What exact versions of ACR are you using with PS-CS5 and PS-CS6 and what exact version of LR4 are you using?

Are you on a 32-bit or 64-bit computer?

What camera model is your image from, if it is a raw format file (rather than a JPG)?

I assume you have already updated Photoshop CS5 to Camera Raw 6.7. That should be the only reason it works in CS5.

Now try updating Photoshop CS6 with the Camera Raw 7.1 RC from Lab.adobe.com. See if that makes things work.

File Open issues are sometimes caused by mixing up older versions of Adobe plug-ins...

You haven't by chance copied plug-ins from your older version of Photoshop, or set your Extra Plug-Ins Folder to point into the installation area for your older version, have you?

Go to http://labs.adobe.com/ and download and install the RC2 version, then.

Also, do things work if you have PS open already and choose Edit in Photoshop in LR?
