Popup window notification of updates, everytime

I am having hte same problem as the user her:

I'm using Adobe CS 5.1. When Adove reader is open, I get the message:

 

<quote>Adobe Acrobat Updater has not been able to check for updates recently. Check online to see if solutions are available from the Adobe website.</quote>

 

The Adobe website is pretty big.  Where do I check?  (Like searching Rhode Island for a person, would be nice to have a more refined tip on where to look).
