Mouse Zoom

May 7, 2012 5:21 PM

Not crazy about the mouse wheel now zooming the sequence view if I put the pointer over the horizontal scroll bar.  The sequence scrolls pretty slow with the mouse anywhere else.  In previous versions, putting the pointer over the horizontal scroll bar would speed up the scrolling.  Now it zooms.

I don't like that.  We had + and - for zoom.  I want the faster scrolling back.

    Mouse still scrolls for me.

It scrolls left / right in the sequence top bar.

Scrolls Up / down in the sequence side bars

Scrolls frame by frame in source and program monitors.

    Just like CS 5.5

I will check that again soon Jim... but I think that I did place the cursor on the Scroll Bar and I did not get a Zoom.

Currently updating Nvidia driver for FX3800. Quadro

CS6 tells me that the driver I was using happily and effectively in CS5.5 is not up to it for CS6 and MPE does not work.

    Go figure!!!

    Jim

Just succesfuly finished my driver update and checked your scroll / zoom  issue.

My mouse wheel only scrolls when placed over the Scroll Bar.  I can not get it to zoom no matter what I do..

BTW - MPE is now working so I am happy.

    NO.

I am talking about the bar at the top of the timeline just under the Yellow CTI button. This is what I call the scroll bar because I have never used the lower area.

Will try the lower bar tomorrow when back in the edit suite... but now assume that what you experience will be my experience.

If you want a fast in and out zoom hold ALT and scroll the mouse, placing it anywhere in the timeline. That point will be the center of the zoom.

But that's not now nor has ever been the "scroll bar".  That's the Work Area Bar.

    I knew that ...

I mostly edit TVCs which are from 15 to 60 secs long.  Never have to move very far in a timeline to navigate the entire program.

Zooming from the real scroll bar will be very helpful to me.

    Jim

I tested mine and I get a similar effect in the WAB and the Scroll Bar.

Depends on which modifier key but I can both Zoom and Scroll in both areas with the Mouse Wheel and I can accelerate them as well.
