I download PSCS6 beta, and since then, there are some files that I cannot open at all.
Got a message ( in both, PS CS 5.1 and in CS6 ) that say;
"Could not complete you request because a program error"
Has anyone has any of this problem?
This is not good at all ![]()
Need help
Thanks
Now we're getting somewhere.
Is there anything special about these files (3D, video, lots of type, etc.)?
Can you post one of the files that doesn't open so we can see why it might be failing?
Can you post the PSErrorLog.txt file from your Photoshop CS6 preferences folder (that might tell us where the program error occurs)?
Yes, the file is corrupt. It contains at least 2 smart objects, and the second one is in the corrupt section of the file.
Looking at the file in a hex editor, the last third of the file is solid zeros.
So, this file is not openable in CS4, CS5, or CS6.
Something went wrong when saving the file.

I guess nothing else to do.
I can think of one more thing: You might try to get to the bottom of why your file got corrupted.
You should never expect your computer to just corrupt files. It is possible to have a computer system that never does so. It may be that you have hardware problems or something else going on, but it would be a good idea to do a root cause analysis for why that file got corrupted, or you know you're going to have to deal with it again, sure as shootin'.
Given that Photoshop CS6 saves files in the background while you continue to work, is it possible it was still saving the file when you powered it off and you just didn't notice?

Hola Noel
Well, I just 'upgrade' to a new pc, and been doing fine until got the beta 6. First, it was the text on some files that I cannot change/update, then this file.
I'm not bushing PS Beta, actually, in my opinion, is the best ever, I'm so impress with it, that I'm going to buy it. So, in my opinion, is NOT THE PC, but I can be wrong.
The good thing is that I have a jpeg image ( as an small sample ) of the file, so I can re-create it.
Not sure what happen, but all good, specially that STILL this forum is for people who use PS, and is full of good people.
Thanks Noel
