on location - camera control?

hi,

 

am still awaiting cs6, but in the meantime i have a question re on location.

 

is it possible to control start / stop record (in on location) from camera (z5 and v1) as i can with hd and cf recorders?

finally found the adobe page explaining it all. i'd connected the z5 (without tape) and couldn't get it to start / stop on location WITHOUT a tape inserted even when 'record to external' was selected in camera menu. is this right?
