• Vertically spreads print, possible?

Hello -

 

 

1.

I know that we may horizontally spreads print (cfr. screenshot blue arrows).

But is there away to vertically spreads print (cfr. magenta/pink arrow)?

 

2.

As you may see in the screenshot, there is 3 rows of 4 pages (forced/asked by the client, so it's easy for him to print and make some corrections -> It's what he said).

 

The final goal, is to print all thoses "small" pages on 1 big page.

With such a "scheme", will it easly be possible (I mean without extra/additional imposition software and/or plug-in)?

    I don't understand your illustration, but if you want vertial spreads, as in a calendar, for example, you can rotate the spread view for layout. This doesn't actually change tha page orientation, but it allows you to work as if your mmointor was on its side and you can now "pretend" that your spreads are vertical rather than horizontal.

    This is easy using InDesign and Acrobat. Have InDesign export your document with Spreads checked. Open the PDF in Acrobat. Print the file, opening the Advanced options and telling it to print Multiple using 1 by 3 pages per sheet.

    One problem, if the pages have bleed, you are out of luck for any workaround solution. My suggestion would be to maintain one document as is, making corrections as needed. Once approved, export pages to PDF, and then place PDF and construct within second Indesign document for final production.

    I don't understand why you say bleed is a problem with rotated spread view (of course, I'm still not sure exactly what the OP is trying to do).

    My take is all 12 pages would make up one page, like a map. If you follow Tom's suggestion, this would work if pages had no bleed. But if pages do require bleed, P9 only requires bleed for the left side and bottom, and without cropping, you would never be able to accomplish in a print process.

    Hello guys -

     

    Thanks for your feedback…

    Tom, I tried your solution, but in fact there a vertical "gap" between "P1/P5" and "P5/P9" (and it's not coming from the bleed (cuz I don't have it)).

     

    Can we avoid this gap?

    If so, I think that this solution could work…

     

    Jeffrey, we also thought about this alternative, but we have many documents and it would be too much work…

    OK, so now I think I understand waht you are trying to do. You should probably place these pages into a new document that's a single page per side of the print sheet.
