Illustrator Trial

I downloaded the trial version of Illustrator but when I tried to open it, I got another error message: You can't open the application Illustrator CS6 because it is not supported on this type of mac. What do I need to do now?

    Which type of Macintosh do you have an which Illustrator are you trying to install?  You can find more details about your Mac by going to Apple Menu>About This Mac.
