How do I sort products by tag?

Apr 23, 2012 2:41 PM

For example, I have several products tagged as "featured". How do I show only products with that tag?

You have to use a featured products module as expained here http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/194/bc_1949.html

To my knowledge there is no way of doing this.  I have been looking for the same answer.  My client would like to see all products with a particular tag as well as have a field in the import spreadsheet to manage tags.  Seems like such a simple thing yet its not implemented yet. It is ridiculous to think someone is going to search for the items with a particular tag in the product admin.  This is a huge thing on my wishlist.

If you use keywords instead you can output this into your layouts and then use jQuery to run filters based on the selections.

Yeah, unfortunately there's currently no way to do that.

Sort of on the same line.. Does anyone know how to link to a tag for products?

We have a list of our fragrance descriptions on a webpage and I was hoping to link each fragrance name to the products that have this scent on them.

Previously I created a separate catalogue e.g Vanilla, and had all Vanilla products under that catalogue - this is time consuming and messy as we have 50+ scents..

Then I thought one option could be to link the fragrance headings to the search results page for that word but it comes up instead with www.ourwebsite.com.au/Default.aspx?A=ProductSearch&ID=/SearchResults. htm so we can't do that as it's not specific to the word entered.

So I was hoping we could instead TAG the products e.g Frangipani, then link the Frangipani heading on the description page to all frangipani products but I can't see how this would work.  Any ideas? (Sorry for hijacking the post )

    Hi there,

Catalogues are currently the only easy way to link products. You can export products add the catalogue name to each product and import. Tags can link them, but then you'll have to use the featured products module and create a page for every module and place a module onto that page. Plus tags can't be imported. So, you're looking at a lot of manual work.

    Cheers,

    Mario
