What does 'Error 2343 specified path is empty' mean - during un-install?

I am re-installing Elements 10 from my retail discs after a hard drive failure. During un-install, I get 'Error 2343 specified path is empty' and the install process stops. How can I get the Elements installation past this point?

    That all seems to have worked as expected

    Using Microsoft FixIt appeared to have un-installed what remained of Elements 10

    This then allowed the re-installation of Elements 10

    without trying to un-install it first and thus hitting the '2434' error

    Hello Preran

     

    Thanks for your help in getting Elements 10 to load

    However, this has revealed a new problem

    Organizer brings up the thumb-nails of my photos

    and then immediately disappears without any error message

    just returning me to my desktop screen

     

    This prevents me from performing any repairs to or recovery

    from my file of photos

     

    Have you any ideas of what I might do next?
