metronome and tempo

May 10, 2012 6:11 AM

  1. I use metronome and set tempo let's say to 104.7 bpm and then I save session and close. Next time when I open tempo goes to 1280,0 bpm. So I have to reset tempo again. Does anyone else have that kind of problem?
  2. I thought I would suggest that count in for recording with metronome would be nice to have. I know I can insert a bar (and delete later) in the beginning for all tracks but it’s more convenient to work. For example if it’s 12 bar blues then it’s convenient to have 12 bar on 12 instead of 13.

    1. No - just checked session tempo saves and reloads perfectly

    2. Not sure what you mean?

Set tempo, set timeline to bars n beats if you need to, activate metronome, start recording, count 4 beats and start playing

    Am I missing something?

In Multitrack, select the Properties panel, open the Info twirl-down and you can set a negative Start Time there.  If your ruler is set for Bars and Beats mode, you can set it back one bar which should modify the ruler and give you room for the countdown and STILL have your 12th bar of blues land on bar 12 in the ruler.

As for the tempo issue, I've not seen that before.  Any chance you can send a sesx file that shows that issue over to audbugs@adobe.com

I notice the BPM is even higher in the MT ruler display.  1280.0 is simply the max value the hot-text control in the Properties panel will display.

The first picture seems to show the Tempo as 107,4 rather than 107.4. Maybe the comma instead of decimal point is confusing the .sesx file?

That's exactly the issue.  I can reproduce this easily on Windows if I change the decimal value to comma, instead of period.  Writing bug report now.

Yes.  The evil axe from Au3 is no longer part of the installer.  Reinstall all you like in that 30 days and you'll be able to continue using Audition.

I can reproduce it on OS X as well.  I've filed a bug report, it's been assigned to a developer to investigate and fix.

The 'info twirl-down'?  You just making this up, or do you guys have an in-house lexicon?

Aw, come on! They've been referring to 'twirl-downs' for at least three releases now. But you might be correct about the in-house lexicon, because the only references to this I could see on Google all referred to Adobe products...
