I am using Dreamweaver CS4 on a Macbook Pro.
I wanted to execute the find and replace feature a few times for a group of selected files on the remote server.
One of the items to be updated is this:
<a href="../index2.html" title="Home Page">
I would like this to become:
<a href="../index2.php" title="Home Page">
I simply need this specific index2.html to become index2.php
I can not seem to interact with Dreamweaver in such a way that the actual files on the hosting server are displaying in a browser with the updated content.
Please advise.....
I was hoping that I could use the Find and Replace options within Dreamweaver to simply replace the specific source code I needed to change without the extra work of having to download local copies of 50 different files, then upload them back to the site.
If I were to follow your suggestion, please let me know if this is possible:
Using an FTP client, I could download the files needing updates to the local folder that Dreamweaver knows to be the local folder for the site. Then, I could interact with the find and replace option Dreamweaver, and then use the FTP client to replace the files on the website.
