Where is this so called "App Preference" to change the installation path that I am hearing about? The download manager doesn't have a preferences option. Mac OS X Lion.

    In the Adobe Application Manager, but don't worry about it, it's broken and will cause all your downloads to fail.  Download the trial apps directly and install them where you want, just register them with your adobe acct.

    The Adobe Application Manager is working for most individuals.  If you wish to change the install location of the applications click on your name in the top left hand corner of the Adobe Application Manager and you will be able to access the preferences.
