EDL created by Premiere Pro causing import failures.

May 11, 2012 10:17 PM

Hi,

I am experiencing failures trying to import EDL's created by Premiere Pro CS6 into Speedgrade.

So far I have found 2 scenearios where EDL import will fail with (unsupported edit info:  'W00l' in edit 6) when I try to import the EDL

1.  playback speed on clip is less than 100%, it will fail to import.

2.  if 'constant gain' audio effect is applied it will fail to import.

wondering are these by design?

Thanks

Steve

    Hey Steve,

    I'm having similar issues. Mine says: "unsupported edit info: 'W000' in edit 4". Also it crashes, if I try to use the "Send to SpeedGrade" function. Really anoying!

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Maybe it's even a nice way to get used to a more steamlined workflow, i don't know. Sending to SpeedGrade also takes forever and crashes regularily, really annoying! Kind of puts the term "SpeedGrade" into a new context, if you have to wait half an hour to start grading.

    cheers,

    I just got an error like this.  sg error.jpgI do have some transitions and clips in the footage, and because of hte mix of video with timelapse, some go beyond 100% some go below.  How do you fix this?

    Edit:

    I opened the .edl file and this is what is on line 35, I redid the export of the edl file, error changed.

    035  AX   V W000 006 00:00:00:00 00:00:02:07 00:02:50:14 00:02:53:11

    EFFECTS NAME IS W000

    * FROM CLIP NAME: MVI_8747.MOV

    * TO CLIP NAME: IMG_8692.JPG

    M2   AX   179.8                  00:01:34:16
    M2   AX   019.2                  00:00:00:00

    its seems its from a movie to a timelapse.

    Edit 2:  I tried taking away the transition, but its still the same,  The constant I see is W000.  Whatever that is, its breaking it.

    seems like you have some other problems if it takes you that long to load up speedgrade. probably one of the fastest adobe programs i have ever used.
