I'm using windows 7.
I have downloaded photoshop cs6, and it came up with error101. I downloaded again, and it worked fine, but my installer didn't initialize. I uninstalled everything and downloaded again, and the installer started, but stopped halfway and said it had an error.
I have downloaded Support Advisor, but the errors it found were all to do with CS4. As in, if you have CS5 installed and try to install CS4 it will be an error. But I neither have CS5 installed, nor am I trying to install CS4. I have also tried downloading to a different folder, and installing in a new administrator acount. I have searched the forums, and nothing has seemed to help fix my problem.
Yes for these type of errors you will want to remove all previous versions of Adobe Creative software. I would recommend starting with the uninstaller and then following up by following the directions listed in CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation -problems.html.
Then the next step will be to manually review your installation logs to determine what is causing your difficulty. Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5 -cs5.html provides complete instructions on how to review your installation logs and identify errors.
