Photoshop Application Error

I have installed a bought version of Photoshop CS5 everything works but it wont open photoshop itself.  and come up with error saying its failed to initialize  (0xc000001d) untitled.JPG

Can someone please help on this problem because all the other programs that come with it is working but photoshop and i dont know where to go from here. thank you.

    Did you receive any error messages during the installation process?  Has it ever worked?  What operating system are you using?

    That's WinXP in "ugly" mode. Still, we need a lot more info about the system. Could simply be missing the Windows Service Packs or some conflict with a printer or scanner driuver or whatever.

    Very likely Mylenium although who knows they could have skinned Windows 7 to look like Windows XP.
