HTML file. Alternate row shading not showing up in PDF conversion.

I have to convert HTML files into PDF documents for mark up. These HTML files contain several tables with alternate row shading. When I convert the HTML file by "printing" it to the Adobe Printer, none of the tables alternate row shading show up in the PDF file. What do I need to do so the tables in the PDF version have alternate row shading?
