Seminars for CS6 in Edinburgh?

Does anyone know if Adobe will be coming to Edinburgh with a CS6 seminar?

 

I have spent all morning trying to email/speak to someone at adobe rearding this and got absolutely pushed from pilar to post and eventually got to speak to an Indian call centre who:


A. Could not understand me

B. took ages confirming I indeed had an Adobe account

C. HUNG UP ON ME! when I asked the question –  Will Adobe be coming to Edinburgh to do  a CS6 seminar?

 

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I can't find anywhere else to post this.

    First, of all you won't normally find Adobe staff on this forum, I'm afraid. We're users, just like you.

     

    I live quite a long ways away, in San Francisco.

     

    What I do know is that when there is a new release of CS6, Adobe staff itself only does top level events in large cities around the world. For InDesign, the CS6 intros usually happen through InDesign User Groups. I just checked the list and there are only user groups in London and SW England, not in Scotland. There are also training organisations (trying to use your spelling :-) ) These are not run by Adobe but usually are Adobe-certified, which offer training and sometimes seminars. The only one which publicizes in a way that I would hear about is Certitec.com. It has centers in England and Wales, but not Scotland.

     

    So, I'd try to find training organisations in Edinburgh and see who offers CS training. Otherwise, for the moment, you'll probably have to use resources like Adobe TV unless you want to travel to England, it looks like to me.

    Thanks Steve... hey it was a cry for help to anyone who would listen

     

    They have done free launch seminars in Edinburgh with every other release of Creative Suite as Edinburgh is our capital city and they have been packed out every time so you can understand my frustration at their apparent lack of presence in Scotland this time around.

     

    I'll be sure to look into a few training agencies that i've used in the past to see what else is avalable.

    Start a User Group!  There's tons of support from Adobe for user groups -- speakers, giveaways, you name it, and it sounds like there would be enough users in your area to make it fly.

    By all means start a user group (http://www.indesignusergroup.com/chapters/index.php?continent=continen t_eu&ref=menu). There are only two in Britain (one in London, the other called 'the southwest'). Nothing in Scotland or the north of England. I'll join your group when it's there (I'm in Lancaster).

    This company does/will do personal training on CS6 in Edinburgh - http://www.tidalfire.com/ and of course there's excellent online training now available from Lynda.com and Video2Brain.
