How does one and his logo or other graphic to the email signature in the Business Catalyst email environment? This is a basic function of the most basic and even FREE email sources out there. I can't seem to do it in Business Catalyst. I and my 1 BC customer are getting pissed-off right now. I have looked and looked and can't find the solution. It may be right in front of me. Please help.
When we sign into the BC email accounts, it allows us to add a text signature under Settings/Mail - but text ONLY!!! Help! This can't be. It should not be. This is a basic, basic thing! Yes, I realize someone using Outlook or another manager can add a signature, but one should be able to add the graphic to the signature in BC. Agreed? How do I proceed and, if I can't (unimagineable), how fast can BC add this feature?
Thanks in advance for your help
Frustrated & Disappointed
Sorry to hear about your frustrations regarding adding a logo/image to your mail signature within webmail.
The options are as follows..
You can add a photo/logo to the text signature of your webmail, if the picture is from an external source using a little HTML.
For example you can add this code:
<img src="http://www.yoursite.com/imagefile.jpg" alt="Test" width="246" height="96" border="0" />
and change the URL of the src with your own and the alt with a custom name - http://screencast.com/t/RuG9QSyPn.
Of course as you've noted you can use an email client (Outlook, MacMail, etc) when sending emails that needs to have a logo in signature.
Sidney, this was helpful. Thank you. I am not a "coder" and was introduced to BC via Muse, which I am still learning.
I was able to add the logo but I would like to be able to alter the text as well, and add the facebook logo with the link to the company's facebook page. This sounds like a lot of coding to do for an email signature but it looks like that is the only solution.
For example, if I want my name in bold and a different color, along with my title (in the same color), how would I do that. I don't want to have to change it in every instance when I start a new email
I would like it to appear as in the example below with the Facebook logo linking to the actual page. Seems a shame I have to code a signature. Most of us using Muse and coming to BC are not coders.
Here is an example of the simple signature I would like to acheive in BC...
Yours in Good Karma, (this type as is)
No need to fret over coding here's a quick and simple way to obtain the HTML code of the signature required.
In this example I'm using FireFox as my browser and simply highlighted your signature content. Then I right-clicked and select "view selected source" to grab the HTML.

The code you are after.

Just a FYI you might want to create this signature within your site then pull the HTML. Since my example above is pulling the images you've uploaded in this forum thread. Just in case the forum topic was ever deleted you may lose the images.
Hope this helps!
Further to the above info on creating an email signature within webmail, I think the above solution may be out of date now.
I followed the instructions, and spoke to a BC technitian on chat and they couldn't get this to work. They suggested posting a message in here as "a customised solution would be required" and "it's what the open SRS is providing at this stage". It is a bit frustrating as the original thread creator mentioned!
Any ideas about this?
It appears since the switch to the new webmail interface the coding no longer works as signatures only accept text at this stage.
I'll look into this further to get more insight and if this will be possible again.
Thanks for the heads up!
My apologies for not updating this thread earlier. This has been resolved and should now be working as normal. I've also tested to confirm that with proper HTML the signature will populate the image/hyperlink as expected.
<a href="http://www.google.com">Testing Sig Line, Bob</a>
This line should be in plain text
Hope this helps!
What about if you want to send a customer a message using the message button in a case? And you are not using bc for the e-mail. Right now I can send, but I wonder how to set up a signature by default for a admin profile?
