When I convert a Word 2007 document that contains a text box with a drop shadow, sometimes in the PDF file the shadow (grey) appears on top of the text and sometimes, correctly, behind the text. Any idea why?
High Quality didn't make any difference - just made the file size larger. I tried all of the Conversion Settings and the RGB one seemed to work, although, again, the file size is nearly 4 times larger. But the drop shadows are correct! Thanks.
I've encountered this issue converting graphics with transparency in Word to PDF as well. It seems to incorrectly layer the graphic in the PDF. Try going to the Content pane and locating the graphic. There will be an XObject in the Content pane for the grey that you can delete or move as necessary.
It doesn't seem like the conversion has created more than one layer. If I do View/Navigation Panels/Layers, then no layers show. Not sure what you mean by the Content pane? I'm using Acrobat 8.
