Converting Text Box with Drop Shadow

When I convert a Word 2007 document that contains a text box with a drop shadow, sometimes in the PDF file the shadow (grey) appears on top of the text and sometimes, correctly, behind the text. Any idea why?

Please change job options settings of the PDF Maker for the file conversion, see if that helps. Try with "High Quality" option first.

I've encountered this issue converting graphics with transparency in Word to PDF as well. It seems to incorrectly layer the graphic in the PDF. Try going to the Content pane and locating the graphic. There will be an XObject in the Content pane for the grey that you can delete or move as necessary.

Unfortunately, I don't believe the Content pane was part of Acrobat 8.
