I just took a bike trip, videoing with my Sony Cybershot camera and my new GoPro Hero2 camera. My files are in AVCHD and MP4 format. I'm totally new to tackling the video editing for these files. Is there a basic book or primer for basic education on editing? When I read the forums, the detail gets too deep too quick - I need to start at the basics.
The good news is that, yes, I've written an easy to read how-to book, based on my 9 years moderating this forum.
But that bad news is that you've shot your video on a couple of the hardest formats for this program to edit!
I'm not sure whether to encourage you to go ahead with the program or not. If it were me, I'd look for a program that works better with those two non-camcorder formats.
And I say that based on a couple of years of watching people struggle with those very formats!
It's up to you. But, before I invested too heavily in either the program or an editing project, I'd try the free trial of the program and see if it works at all for you or if you find trying to edit that vide pretty frustrating. One word of warning: Some have been able to do it. But if it doesn't work at first, it's probably not going to get any better.
My free 8 part Basic Training tutorials should show you the basics.
