pdf.rpln plug-in cs5.5 crashes on loading plug-ins

I have tried everything from uninstall, re-install the cleaner after uninstall, nothing works.......

any ideas?

    What's the OS?

     

    Have you installed the 7.5.2 patch?

     

    You haven't given us a lot to go on here. Please describe in detail what is happening -- are launching ID from a shortcut ofd some sort or double clicking a file, or what, exactly?

    hey, sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you.

     

    I am running on Windows 7 and had creative suite cs5.5 running just fine on my computer, ever since I processed a very large file ( tried to convert to pdf) I now cannot even open Indesign anymore. When I turn my computer on I always have a window open up saying: CS 5.5 Service Manager.exe - application error

    the application was unable to start correctly (0xC0150002). click ok to close the application.

     

    If I then proceed and try to open Indesign upon initialising I get : Indesign.exe

    Cannot load the pdf.rpln plug-in. it is dependent on the EPS PAGE ITEM.RPLN plug-in, which failed to load.please check documentation for the EPS PAGE ITEM.RPLN plug-in.

     

    I can still access photoshop, which opens, but I cannot work on files as the same message pops up every minute or so until I close the programme. I have tried uninstalling, running a cleaner and reinstalling but it has not changed anything.

    I think if I were in your shoes I would uninstall again, making sure to check the box to remove preferences, then run the cleaner tool, then rename any Adobe folders that might be left in your user profile, reboot, run MSconfig and turn off all but essential startups and services (especially virus, spyware and third-party firewall, itunes, browser helpers, etc), reboot, run the installer, and run MSconfig again to reset normal startup.

    ok I have done everything you suggested and it is still exactly the same..... no change whatsoever. can you think of anything else I could do?

    This is VERY strange. Sorry to have put you through that big hassle for nothing.

     

    Let's try two more things that are at least diagnostic. First, do a search in  for *.RPLN and see if EPS Page Item.rpln turns up anywhere. On my system (which is 64-bit) it shows up in each version under the \Program Files (x86)\...\Indesign\Required folder.

     

    Next, if the plugin is there, create a new user, log in with that account and try again.

    I have the same problem, execept mine is an XP. The weird thing is that it was working totally fine and then one day I tried to open and these errors pop up (like 20 or more). I checked the destination where the plug-ins are and they are all there and look totally fine. My other pc has the same program and I do not have this problem on that one. Re-install doesn't help either. Any suggestions?

    Your error may or may not be the same. It would help to have the exact wording of the error message, or a screen capture of the dialog.

    Is one of those the very first error you get when you open?

     

    Have you tried a Sytem Restore to a point in time when ID worked?

    The 2nd one is the first one I see. The system restore function was turned off and there are no restore points that I can load. Any other suggestions?
