DropDownList problem - selection changes on refocusing on Air application

I have an issue with all Spark DropDownLists in my application resetting when the switching to another application and then back again. When moving back to the Air application every single all DropDownList change to the prompt text selection. Although this happens the change event isn't triggered as the original selection is retained in the background.

 

Help!
