Screen looks fine in Dreamweaver but Browserlab shows it in Design Mode

May 14, 2012 12:56 PM

Hi!

I am admittedly brand new to Dreamweaver and BrowserLab. I am intrigued by BrowserLab and the side by side and onion skin views of web pages. I tried it out on some public pages and it works great.

However, the screens I need to test are private and local, so I downloaded a Dreamweaver trial so I could try out testing private screens. Here I am having a problem.

I am able to load up my local web site in Dreamweaver (from the "Home" field) and it displays just fine in Dreamweaver. When I go to the Adobe BrowserLab tab in Dreamweaver and click the "Preview" button, I then get into BrowserLab (after signing in) and the website shows in Browserlab in Design Mode. How can I get BrowserLab to show the screen in "normal" view and not design mode?

Thanks,

Andy

BrowserLab delivers screenshots of the rendered page to the BL client application  running in the  default browser on your system. Based on the workflow you described above it sounds like you may not have switched over to your browser. Once the BrowserLab panel in Dw shows that the image have been downloaded, bring your default browser into view and you should see the BL application running with the screenshots of the page being displayed.
