How To Zoom Out From Video

May 19, 2012 11:07 AM

I have a short completed video segment of an animation.  I want the segment to begin with a slow zoom out from a central area of the video screen to the full area of the video screen.

I'm new to After Effects.

Can After Effects accomplish this zoom out from video effect and if so, how can it be done?

Any specific suggestions on steps and/or tutorials?

Thanks!

You don't zoom, you scale the layer. Start in reverse with the normal view, create a keyframe, then move to a point before that, scale he layer up and create anotehr keyframe. Adjust as desired.

Start here to learn After Effects. If you take the time to work through the basic learning materials first, it will save a lot of headaches later.
