Just installed CS6 todayd and am enjoying it, however when I opened Illustrator I noticed the weird rounded rectangle with drop shadow that you can see in the left hand side of the screenshot below. It's a persistent problem, I closed and reopened the program a few times. I gues I would call it a phantom window, since it's not clickable, even though my mouse's cursor changes when I hover over it. Any ideas on what it is or how to get rid of it? Thanks!
I suspect that didnt' remove it, but rather hid it behind the Application Frame. Many Mac users don't find the Application Frame valuable.
You really shouldn't have it to begin with. Did you copy workspaces from an old installation?
Not sure if Illustrator CS6 tried to copy my old Illustrator workspaces or not. I didn't try to copy my old ones. The phantom box MAY be hidden. Not sure, as I can no longer see it. But anyway, as long as it is out of my way, I'm a happy camper.
