AE CS6 Crash in start. Error: <140735275870560> <GPUManager> <2> Sniffer Result Code: 3

May 25, 2012 12:31 AM

Hi.

I´m having problems with AE CS6. Crash when opens with the following error:

Error: <140735275870560> <GPUManager> <2> Sniffer Result Code: 3

Reading for a while some opinions and forums, I found that may be an Open GL Issue or Video Card Drive.

I ´m working on a 3,47 GHz i7 990X Hackintosh, with 16 GB RAM (1066 Mhz DDr3)  running OS X 10,6,8.

My graphics card is Ati XFX HD 6850 DDR5  1 GB

I just install this free soft, Open GL Extensions Viewer in order to try a drivers update, but nothing change...

Any toughts?

Thanks

Raulov

Hrm it used to be with earlier versions the SNIFFER.EXE would read the text file of compatible cards and if the card didn't pass the SNIFF test of Memory it would result in a sniffer error.

I had the same issues on a similar system (ATI 6850). I updated from 10.7.2 to 10.7.4 and After Effects works well now.

I'm running a Hackintosh with 10.7.4 Lion. I was having the same as errors

trying to start AE as you and many others.

From what I've read, the update from Lion 10.7.3 to the current 10.7.4

included openGl support for many ATI cards. I've had no issues with AE

    since updating.

same problem to me, I´m on a Hackintosh OSX 10.7.4, ATI Radeon HD5770, everything works, but the AE got the "sniffer" issue...  (wait until Mountain Lion perhaps...?)

The AECS6 ,in my MBP, works perfect!!! by the way...

Anyone find a work-around for this annoying bug?  I'm a MacPro, Lion 10.7.4, ATI Radeon HD6870, I get the same error.  Running the latest AE CS6 update with no relief.

All other CS6 apps work wonderfully, _including_ OpenCL mercury hardware playback in Premier CS6.  Needless to say, all other mac apps run brilliantly, FCPX, Motion, Cinema 4D, etc, etc

Get that exact same message in newly fresh installed Lion 10.7.4 and CS6 Production Premium.  Should I understand from all the above questions/replies that this is related to ATI Radeon cards?  (Mine is a Radeon 5450)...

    Hackintosh too...

Is the only solution to switch to a nVidia graphic adapter ?
