We were sent a Mpeg commercial spot. The audio will not play throughout the Adobe products (After Effects, Premier & Encoder) Quicktime player plays the audio. AE shows the audio waveform in the thumbnail. The sytem is using CS5. Any help would be appreciated. OS 10.6

It's possible that the audio is multipled, or muxed, meaning that the audio is contained in the video, with no separate audio track.  QT Pro ought to be able to export an AIFF, which you can then use.

QT Pro would have been the easy fix.  Now we need additional information, a list of which you'll find here.  You've given some of it already.  You might even find that the questions prompt a solution on your own.

Well, here's a workaround.  You say QT Pro plays the audio.  Export an AIFF file from QT Pro: forget about the video.  Bring it into the AE project along with MPEG file.  Now you have audio and video.

Okay, then this might be a viable solution.  Best 30 bucks you'll spend for many a moon.
