tracking when an object passes in front of the track point

May 19, 2012 3:33 PM

I am trying to track an a point on a wall that is behind my subject. I want to composite a sign image on the wall. I have  duplicated the layer and roto brushed the subject in the duplication layer because the subject stands and raises his arms that will pass in front of the sign composite on the bottom layer. When I try to track the point on the wall to use as my anchor for the composite the tracking point moves when the subject raises his arm and passes in front of the tracking point.

Is there a way to stop this from happening? I have tried using Mocha but the same thing happens.

Thanks in advance

Yeah, simply track the two segments and fill in the rest by hand keyframing. You're merely wasting your time looking for automated solutions.
