How to create patterns(seamless)?

I was wondering if there was any good recommended tutorials or good readings on how to make patterns(seamless) in illustrator for use on other designs? Anything that is easy to understand and learn from would be great. Thanks and I appreciate your help!

    Which version?

Have you already tried the manual? If yes, what exactly did you miss in there?

    How about this one?

    http://vector.tutsplus.com/tutorials/tools-tips/everything-you-ever-wa nt-to-know-about-creating-seamless-patterns-in-illustrator/

I'm pretty sure that there are step by step tutorials on vectortuts that show the procedure on a project. Just do a search on Google - that's what I would do now as well.

You might like to look into CS 6 as well I will do a video showing you why.

I will show you a type of seamless panel I was never able myself to do before  C S 6 though it could be done by others.

With CS 6 there is a way to dothis entire visually with instant feed back so you can make you adjustments live. Wichi means it is easy to correct if you make a smal error without doing all over again.

I'll post the video if I have time tomorrow.

In case this is the type of pattern you want to be able to create I can do a tutorial but for CS 6.

Very interesting way to control all of this.
